State Medicaid Expert Joins Nebo Systems

Longtime State Medicaid Representative Strengthens Nebo’s Public Aid Expertise

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. – Nebo Systems, a division of Passport Health Communications Inc., has hired Jodie Edmonds as Vice President – Medicaid Revenue Consulting.  Edmonds previously spent 31 years with the Illinois Department of Public Aid, most recently managing the Department’s statewide billing and payment programs.

In her new role Edmonds will provide consulting services to Nebo’s client base in Illinois, focusing on helping providers reduce their rate of Medicaid claim rejections and denials.  Part of her responsibilities will include specialized training and seminars to teach best practices in Medicaid billing.  She will work out of Nebo’s offices in Oakbrook Terrace and Springfield, Ill.

Edmonds had been with the Illinois Department of Public Aid since 1979.  In her most recent role she served as a representative to health care providers on issues relating to billing, technical support and payments.  She is well-known as a liaison between the Department of Healthcare and Family Services and various provider-related associations. She also held a leadership role in the Department on business and technical matters related to national and state requirements like HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10.  Edmonds is a member of the Illinois Uniform Billing Committee and the National Universal Coding Committee.
